We have a great opportunity to join a family owned worldwide, business as a Production Engineer. This company has two production facilities based in Central Bedfordshire.The Production Engineer would be responsible for the implementation and improvement of production and operational processes and procedures.

Key responsibilities for a Production Engineer

  • Support and lead continuous improvement, problem solving and process improvement activities.
  • Support implementation of lean manufacturing and optimise operational efficiencies.
  • Review existing and propose new methods of manufacture that will lead to improvements in Safety, Quality and efficiency.
  • Design new systems and processes to ensure the cost-effective integration of new products or for the improvement of existing ones into manufacturing operations.
  • Generating production documentation such as standard operating procedures.
  • Reduce variation in manufacturing by implementing standard work.
  • Support tender process for new equipment.
  • Removing waste from Operational processes and supporting lean implementation.

Essential skills for a Production Engineer

  • Proven experience in leading improvement projects
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Multi-site experience
  • 3D design experience using AutoCad, Inventor or Solid Works
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on maintenance tasks
  • Full UK driver’s license
