Bid Manager - Aerospace & Engineering

Are you an experienced Bid Manager looking to take the lead in securing high-profile aerospace and defence contracts? We are currently supporting a cutting-edge engineering organisation in their search for a Bid Manager to drive and coordinate bid development, ensuring the delivery of compelling, high-quality proposals.

The Role:

As a Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the bid process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with governance requirements and working closely with technical experts, finance, commercial, and procurement teams. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing all aspects of the bid cycle, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
  • Developing and implementing bid strategies tailored to each opportunity.
  • Overseeing bid schedules, key reviews, and approvals at all delegated authority levels.
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams, ensuring effective communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Supporting risk and opportunity management throughout the bid process.
  • Utilising Microsoft Dynamics to track and manage bid opportunities.

About You:

  • Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • APM/Prince2 or equivalent project management qualification preferred.
  • Strong understanding of bid and proposal techniques, with experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder bids.
  • Experience within Defence, Aerospace, or Maritime industries is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of research and development (R&D) or low technology readiness level (TRL) environments.
  • Commercial and legal awareness with excellent attention to detail.
