An engineering services company are actively recruiting for a Service Engineer, in the compressed air industry including the supply and maintenance of products and associated services. This role will be predominantly focused on the Bedfordshire area with an expectation to travel to customer sites.
Commutable from: Bedford, Milton Keynes, Luton, Northampton, Wellingborough
Salary: Circa £ 35,000 p.a. & company vehicle, company mobile phone, pension contribution, health insurance, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and extra days with long service
The Role
Working across a variety of sectors, you will support compressed air and gas generation equipment including delivering and promoting the business’ after sales and repair capability.
The Service Engineer will provide technical support to customers over the phone and on site on compressor and compressed air servicing equipment, including conducting diagnoses, planned maintenance and repair jobs.
You will work typically as the sole engineer for the business at customer sites, building strong and effective working relationships, presenting a highly professional, technically knowledgeable, and flexible approach to your work.
Typical equipment you will support includes compressed air equipment, refrigeration, dryers, chillers, generators - nitrogen and hydrogen. You will be able to solve technical issues and overcome problems for the customer, demonstrating a customer-centric approach to your work.
The Person
You will possess proven experience as a Service Engineer working in a mobile capacity supporting customer sites and possess a valid driving licence.
The Service Engineer will demonstrate proven capability on compressed air products alongside a general background in field service work.
You will be able to travel to Bedfordshire and surrounding counties with occasional overnight stays required and level of personal flexibility to support the needs of the role.
The Service Engineer will ideally possess a relevant technical/engineering qualification and be able to demonstrate excellent customer care and support. A good level of commercial awareness in terms of appreciating job and part costs is essential for the position.
