QA Auditor

The Role:

You will be driving food quality and safety compliance with daily factory walks and internal audits, coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain rigorous food standards and leading investigations and ensure timely communication across departments.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily factory walkthroughs with relevant managers to ensure compliance with food quality and safety standards.
- Complete online verifications to confirm that manufacturing adheres to the site's critical control points.
- Ensure that product manufacturing aligns with all aspects of food safety through the quality management system.
- Perform internal audits to verify compliance with food safety standards.
- Collaborate with the hygiene team to guarantee cleaning is performed to food-safe standards.
- Conduct swabbing verification for cleaning and allergenic control.
- Collect and execute chemical, microbiological, and nutritional testing according to the established schedule.
- Carry out both online and offline product checks through organoleptic testing.
- Organize daily taste panels.
- Investigate any materials that are on hold.
- Conduct investigations related to potential product contamination.
- Ensure that any out-of-specification product is placed on hold, including both 'forward' and 'backward' checks; maintain a hold log and concession log, and communicate as necessary.
- Complete all investigations related to metal rejection.
- Send Certificates of Analysis to customers within agreed deadlines.
- Fulfil any tasks requested as part of the factory food safety audit schedule.
- Complete traceability within the specified timeframe.
- Perform daily tasks, including calibrations, scale checks, and inspections of needles, scissors, and scoops.
- Conduct site audits, including GMP and moisture checks, and report findings to the senior management team.
- Maintain HACCP and CCP standards at the site, including control and verification of metal-detectable equipment.
- Check metal detector sensitivities according to the established frequency.
- Analyse metal detector rejects as per the required frequency.
- Carry out AU (from American table) and Lipase tests according to the schedule.
- Ensure all relevant documents, including labels, are completed accurately and promptly.
- Conduct product, water, and swab sampling as per testing schedules.
- Check fridges and vending machines for allergens, spoilage, cleanliness, and temperature.
- Record and investigate non-conformances and report to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform equipment calibration and verification checks following procedures.
- Execute proficiency and destructive testing programs in line with the schedule.
- Report on assigned critical points.
- Provide coverage for Quality Controllers.
Requirements:
Experience in similar role food related background
Knowledge of BRC, ISO, Organic & major retailer standards desirable
Qualifications:
Level 2 or 3 HACCP qualification / certification
Internal auditing qualification/certification
4 on 4 off shift pattern - days and nights - 06.00am to 18.00pm / 18.00pm to 06.00am
