Production Shift Manager

Location: BedfordJob Type: Full-Time, Shift-Based 4 days on 4 days off rotating shifts 6am-6pm & 6pm-6amSalary: £47,500 + shift premium £3,288.96

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Production Shift Manager to lead a team within our client’s food production environment. You’ll play a crucial role in meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), driving Lean manufacturing initiatives, and ensuring the consistent application of best practices in team management, operational efficiency, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and manage a production team to achieve targets and KPIs.
  • Apply Lean manufacturing principles and tools in real-time situations to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build and nurture high-performing teams through effective people management processes.
  • Oversee production processes, ensuring high levels of accuracy, quality, and efficiency.
  • Conduct data analysis to produce detailed and insightful reports, driving continuous improvement and operational enhancements.
  • Stay updated on new and emerging manufacturing technologies and methodologies.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication channels between team members and senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have Basic Food Hygiene, Food Manufacturing and HACCP experience.
  • Proven experience managing teams in a process-oriented environment, ideally within fast-paced manufacturing, processing, or FMCG.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Lean methodologies and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving KPIs and working towards specified targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for delivering engaging presentations and fostering open dialogue across teams.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to analyse and interpret data effectively.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a constantly evolving work environment, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
