Finance Business Partner

Are you a CCAB or CIMA-qualified finance professional with local authority experience? Tate Recruitment is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join a local authorised based within Bedfordshire, providing strategic financial leadership and expert technical advice.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Financial Services: Deliver expert support across critical areas, including:
- Closure of Accounts: Ensure the accurate and timely completion of the Council's Financial Statements in compliance with statutory requirements.
- Technical Financial Advice: Provide robust financial guidance on complex matters to support decision-making.
- Treasury Management: Oversee cash flow, investments, and borrowing strategies to optimise the Council's financial health.
- Capital Investment Appraisal & Capital Accounting: Lead on planning and evaluating capital investments, ensuring effective monitoring and reporting.
Budget Preparation & Management:
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the Council's budget, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and compliance with financial regulations.
- Provide strategic and operational support to ensure budgets are effectively managed and monitored.
Strategic Leadership & Collaboration:
- Manage, direct, and coordinate financial reports and information to support key decision-making processes.
- Deliver expert financial advice to Portfolio Holders, Directors, Assistant Chief Executives, and Chief Officers.
- Act as a strategic partner, ensuring financial strategies align with organizational objectives and community goals.
Team Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of finance professionals to ensure high-quality financial service delivery.
About You:
- Qualifications: Fully qualified CCAB (e.g., CIPFA, ACA, ACCA) or CIMA professional.
- Experience:
- Significant experience in a similar role within a local authority or public sector organisation.
- Proven expertise in budget preparation, monitoring, and management.
- Skills & Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of statutory financial reporting, treasury management, and capital accounting.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and present comprehensive financial reports and advice for senior leaders.
- Leadership: Exceptional team management and communication skills, with the ability to deliver results under pressure.
