Location: Bedford
Hours: Monday to Thursday 9am–5pm, Friday 9am–4:30pm (34.5 hrs)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Are you an experienced Buyer passionate about procurement and ready for a new challenge? We're seeking a dedicated professional to join our client’s Procurement team, playing a key role in building a value-driven supply chain and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Procurement Manager in procurement activities.
- Plan and procure finished goods, components, and raw materials within the assigned supplier portfolio.
- Manage and maintain effective supplier relationships, including conducting regular site visits.
- Ensure the supply chain meets or exceeds business expectations through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Administer purchase orders and associated documentation.
- Utilise business management systems to streamline procurement processes.
- Contribute to sustainable procurement practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams.
- Perform data analysis and reporting to support procurement decisions.
Requirements:
- CIPS Level 4 qualification (or a desire to achieve it).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Procurement & Supply (preferably in manufacturing).
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and administrative skills.
- Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and purchase order processes.
- A proactive approach to sustainable procurement practices.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- A UK driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally.
