Job Purpose:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for proactively managing the production of commercial information throughout the duration of a project or roll-out program. Their main objective is to ensure that projects are delivered on time, safely, profitably, and to customer satisfaction. They will identify and drive opportunities for improvement in customer service, safety, quality, and profitability.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand project contracts or framework agreements and ensure project costs reflect these terms.

Produce accurate scopes and bills of quantities for each project.

Prepare project costs using agreed schedules of rates, sub-contractor quotes, and mark-ups.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, quality, profit, and customer satisfaction.

Ensure information is produced within agreed timelines or facilitates successful project delivery.

Identify and mitigate project risks, working with the project team to eliminate or reduce them.

Issue accurate sub-contract and purchase orders on time and reflecting project contracts.

Amend costs to reflect project developments and issue variation information in a timely manner.

Attend site meetings as required and prepare and agree interim valuations with customers.

Prepare accurate project cost value reconciliations and negotiate sub-contract variations.

Prepare and agree project final accounts and negotiate amendments to contracts if necessary.
