Quantity Surveyor - Bedford | Thriving Construction Business

Our client, a leading and rapidly growing construction business based in Bedford, is seeking an experienced and proactive Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the financial management of multiple projects across the region, with clear potential for career progression.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will manage project finances with precision, ensuring budgets are accurately forecasted, tracked, and maintained. You will be supported by a dedicated team, while also enjoying the flexibility to manage your time between sites and the office to meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation & Forecasting: Price and forecast the costs of various project components.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and adjust budgets in response to design or construction changes.
  • Material Sourcing: Select and source appropriate construction materials.
  • Contractor Sourcing: Identify and engage contractors and subcontractors for project execution.
  • Site Measurement & Valuation: Accurately measure and value work completed on-site.
  • Financial & Legal Oversight: Address and resolve financial and legal issues as they arise.
  • Subcontractor Payments: Manage payments to subcontractors in a timely manner.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain strong communication with clients, site managers, project managers, and other construction professionals.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Main Contracting.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Degree in Quantity Surveying).
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in Excel and other relevant software.
  • Full UK driving license.
