Quantity Surveyor
Our client is a specialist sub-contractor in the construction industry, offering expert services in plastering, dry lining, floor screeding, suspended ceilings, metal stud partitioning, external rendering, and insulation systems. They primarily focus on projects such as care homes, new builds, and apartment developments.
Due to company growth, our client is looking to bring an experienced Quantity Surveyor in to join their team.
You will be responsible for managing costs and budgets, preparing detailed estimates, overseeing subcontractor contracts and valuations, mitigating financial risks, and collaborating with main contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of construction projects, particularly focusing on care homes, new builds, and apartment developments involving dry lining and related services.

Quantity Surveyor
Position Overview
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and manage budgets, focusing on dry lining and related services as subcontracted work within larger construction projects.
- Review tender documents, source suppliers, and negotiate contracts for materials and subcontractors, particularly for dry lining projects.
- Oversee the preparation, negotiation, and compliance with subcontractor agreements, managing variations and resolving disputes.
- Track project costs against budgets, providing financial updates, and identifying cost-saving opportunities within the scope of subcontracted work.
- Prepare and submit valuations for completed subcontracted work and ensure timely payment applications.
- Work closely with clients, main contractors, and stakeholders to align financial planning with project goals, offering cost-related advice within the context of subcontracted services.
- Identify and mitigate financial and contractual risks related to subcontractor work, addressing changes in project scope or design.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, particularly for dry lining and related services, and address cost or timeline issues.
- Maintain accurate records of financial transactions, contracts, and ensure adherence to legal and industry standards specific to subcontracted work.

Position Requirements
- Experience in dry lining is preferred, although general construction experience is also fine.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor is required.
- Strong team collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a group setting.
- Excellent communication skills and strong time management abilities.
- While this role is primarily office-based, flexibility to travel to sites as needed is essential.
