Job Summary:

They are seeking a highly skilled Tendering Quantity Surveyor (QS) to join their construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders, ensuring cost control, and contributing to the successful acquisition of projects. The role requires a strong understanding of construction contracts, cost estimation, and procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tender Preparation: Review project requirements and compile competitive tender submissions.
  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates by analysing project specifications, drawings, and bills of quantities (BoQs).
  • Supplier & Subcontractor Coordination: Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks in tender documents and provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Value Engineering: Assess cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and project standards.
  • Contract Review: Analyse contract terms and conditions to highlight any commercial risks or obligations.
  • Bid Presentation: Assist in bid presentations, clarifications, and negotiations with clients.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tenders, quotations, and contract documentation.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment in tendering strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying (preferred but not essential)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in tendering within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (JCT, NEC, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of market trends, material costs, and construction methodologies.
  • Experience working with main contractors or subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modelling) in tendering processes.
