Accounts Assistant Role

My client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to play a key role in managing their daily financial operations. This role involves tasks such as purchase ledger management, reconciliations, credit control, and reporting. You'll work closely with the Finance Manager and Financial Controller, building strong relationships with colleagues across the business as well as with customers and suppliers.

Hours: 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a 1-hour lunch break

Main Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the purchase ledger, handle queries, and ensure all reconciliations are completed.
  • Prepare weekly payment runs, ensuring suppliers are paid on time.
  • Support credit control activities.
  • Create sales and production reports.
  • Manage the Finance Department email inbox.
  • Assist in preparing monthly management accounts, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, fiscal, and company control frameworks.
  • Help with the annual audit and year-end financial tasks.
  • Handle general office duties and other tasks as needed for the business.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in a similar role.
  • Either Qualified by Experience (QBE) or studying towards AAT, qualifications.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Excel.
