About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis. This role involves delivering engaging English lessons that foster a love for literature, language, and critical thinking. The successful candidate will be passionate about English, able to inspire students across a range of abilities, and committed to creating a supportive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially Key Stage 5.
  • Inspire students to develop their reading, writing, and analytical skills while encouraging a deep appreciation for literature and language.
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted interventions when needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the English curriculum, incorporating diverse and contemporary literature.
  • Participate in department meetings, parents' evenings, and school events as required.
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding, and contribute to the school's ethos and values.
Essential Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally up to GCSE level.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English literature and language, with familiarity with curriculum standards.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
