Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join an outstanding secondary school in Bedford. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students at Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach at Key Stage 5 depending on experience. You will be responsible for delivering engaging, high-quality lessons in Science, helping students develop both their scientific understanding and practical skills in the subject.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver Science lessons at KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of teaching at KS5 for experienced candidates.
- Lesson Planning: Design and implement creative and engaging lessons that inspire a love for science and foster curiosity in students.
- Student Assessment: Regularly assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to guide their development and support exam readiness.
- Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Science Department to deliver an innovative and comprehensive curriculum, integrating new scientific discoveries and best practices in teaching.
- School Engagement: Contribute to department meetings, school-wide initiatives, and work collaboratively with colleagues to promote a positive and inclusive school culture.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Science or a related field, with a proven ability to teach Science at KS3 and KS4. Experience teaching at KS5 is desirable, but not essential. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about Science, with the ability to make the subject engaging and accessible for all students.
Requirements
- Qualifications: QTS or equivalent, with a degree in Science or a closely related subject.
- Experience: Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 experience preferred but not essential.
- Skills: Strong classroom management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in the study of Science.
