Bennett and Game are currently on the lookout for a skilled Embedded Software Engineer for one of our longest standing clients based in Bedford, who work within the automated solutions of the engineering industry.

The successful Embedded Software Engineer would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (hardware/software and firmware) and be at the forefront of system design for applications in Smart Home Technology.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Overview

  • Technical hands-on role and involves all aspects of the software life cycle.
  • Working in partnership with the sales and design teams
  • Analysis and design software.
  • Implementation and verification (code reviews, functional and system testing).
  • Post-sales support.
  • Research and development for new products and technologies.

Embedded Software Engineer Job Requirements

  • Two years or more prior embedded software engineering experience in a commercial environment.
  • A strong proficiency in 'C'.
  • Experience of programming Microchip MCUs - PIC, ATSAME54.
  • Experience of interfacing with peripheral chipsets (e.g., port expanders, transceivers, onboard memory).
  • Full life cycle development experience and a methodical approach to design and implementation.
  • An efficient approach to fault finding and post-sales support.
  • Ideal additional skills would include; PLC development, TCPIP, RS232, RS485, CAN Bus, Microchip MPLAB and Harmony / MCC, Visual Studio C# and OSI layer 7 model.
  • Based within a commutable distance of Bedford.
  • Security clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Embedded Software Engineer Salary & Benefits

  • Salary - £48,000 to £55,000 - dependent upon experience, skill and qualifications
  • Full time position - Monday to Friday
  • 25 Days Holiday, plus bank holidays
  • Pension Scheme. 8% contribution from company
