SEND Support Assistant

Location: Bedford

Type: Temporary Ongoing

Salary: £12 per hour (paid weekly, term-time only)

Hours: Part-Time & Full-Time hours

We are seeking experienced SEND Support Assistants to join our client’s dedicated team in Bedford. As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. You will be part of a dynamic team committed to placing students at the heart of everything they do.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing one-to-one or group support to students with SEND, both in academic and non-academic settings.
  • Assisting with the implementation of individual learning plans and reasonable adjustments.
  • Supporting students in accessing campus facilities, resources, and technology.
  • Collaborating with academic staff and support teams to deliver a coordinated approach to student support.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student progress and support activities.
  • Promoting independence and empowering students to overcome challenges.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Enhanced DBS: Must have an Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months
  • Experience supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in an educational or care setting
  • Enthusiastic and adaptable with a passion for helping students succeed
  • Flexible and responsive to changing business needs
  • Must have GSCE C grade or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
