We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced SEN Vocational Teacher to join a supportive SEMH school in Bedford. The school caters to learners aged 7 to 19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those who have been excluded or suspended from mainstream settings.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging vocational lessons tailored to SEMH learners, focusing on practical skills and real-world applications.
* Manage challenging behaviours effectively with a positive and understanding approach.
* Support learners' communication needs using strategies such as Widgit, PCS, and Makaton (desirable).
* Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Requirements:
* Experience working with SEMH learners in the UK.
* Strong understanding of behaviour management.
* TeamTeach certification (desirable).
* Experience with symbol communication systems such as Widgit, PCS, and Makaton (desirable).
