Role: Transport Planner
Location: Bedford
Hours: 13:00 – 22:00 Monday – Friday
Salary: £33,780
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for a Transport Planner to join our client’s successful team.
The role:
- Work in conjunction with another transport planner to ensure that all orders received have a transport provider allocated
- Route plan all of fleet deliveries.
- Operate with a fleet of 10 vehicles, visiting an average of 75 customers per day, rising towards 100 during peak periods of the year.
- Book 3rd party carriers when required.
- Complete driver debriefs.
- Ensuring vehicles are booked for scheduled servicing and maintenance in accordance with agreed guidelines.
What we would like from you:
- Previous planning experience is required
- Must have experience of routing multi drop deliveries around the UK
- Strong Excel skills.
- Familiarity with using navigation tools and planning software.
- Quick decision-making ability
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with other team members and departments.
- Ability to coordinate with managers, drivers, and customers.
- Good time management
