A Bedford-based leading designer and manufacturer of special purpose equipment serving a global client base is actively seeking an experienced Stores & Warehouse Operative to join their expanding in-house Manufacturing Team.

Their site on the Woburn Road Industrial Estate in Kempston is easily reached by the A6 and A421 has ample free parking on-site.

As a Stores & Warehouse Operative you will support internal logistics, warehouse activities, and parts storage. This will include unloading and receiving; picking against BOM (Bill of Materials) and moving materials to assembly bays; picking and packing goods out materials for Upgrade and Spares orders; and material management logging on the stores database.

A forklift and/or crane licence would be very beneficial, but training can be provided.

Applicants should have previous experience of working in the stores and/or warehouse of a manufacturing, assembly or production environment.

In return they are able to offer flexible start and finish times, with earliest of 06:30 and latest 17:00, with core hours of 9:00-15:30 Mon-Thu, and an early finish on Fridays doing 09:00-13:00 Fri.

You will be contracted 39 hours per week, with overtime paid at 1.5x (£17.84 per hour), with others in the team typically doing 6-10 hours per week, whereas others don't do any. Earnings potential as examples:

  • Base plus 5 hours of OT per week = £30,295
  • Base plus 10 hours of OT per week = £36,500

We are keen to find someone with a real passion for attention to detail. You will need to be self-motivated to work both independently as well as within a team and be comfortable working on several projects simultaneously on occasion.
