Yard Co-ordinator

Job Objectives

  • Provide support services to the day-to-day operations in line with organisational policies, procedures, and team objectives.
  • Assist in the smooth running of the Operations department.

Operational Duties

  • Maintain a clean and safe yard environment, minimising risks and promptly reporting any concerns through the appropriate procedures.
  • Conduct regular service, inspection, and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Prepare equipment for jobs as requested and pick equipment according to load lists.
  • Handle loading and unloading of equipment from various vehicle types, securing loads using ratchet straps.
  • Collaborate with operations personnel to check and maintain stock levels, ensuring all stock is serviced and ready for dispatch.
  • Participate actively in annual stock checks and asset identification.

Admin Duties

  • Adhere to yard procedures for equipment labelling and complete all procedures for near misses, accident reporting, and damages.
  • Manage and update load lists and notify the management team of any items not returned from sites or any stock shortages.

Health & Safety

  • Promote and enforce health and safety practices in the workplace.
  • Develop and maintain awareness of relevant health and safety documentation.
  • Take reasonable care for personal health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your actions.
  • Report any equipment defects, risks, or accidents to the line manager immediately.

  • Demonstrate commitment to confidentiality and proactive support for continuous improvement through effective communication and procedures.

Training and Development

  • Engage fully in training and development programs in line with the organisation’s training plan and mandatory requirements.
  • Attend and participate in supervision sessions and annual personal reviews.
