Job Description
Role Overview
To manufacture and weld various assemblies using recognised trade skills under the supervision of a Team Leader. To produce quality finished components to drawings and routing requirements that meet Aerospace standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Adhere to drawing and route card requirements.
- Obtain and maintain Operator Verification Approval stamps.
- Work efficiently while meeting agreed-upon standards.
- Assist in implementing new techniques and improving work methods.
- Maintain general housekeeping and tidiness in the workshop.
- Propose ideas to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
- Be knowledgeable about all relevant AWPS and operating procedures.
- Stay informed on company Health & Safety and Fire policies, attending mandatory updates as required.
- Demonstrate a flexible and collaborative approach to work and teamwork.
Role Specifications
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Skilled in understanding and applying weld data card specifications.
- Capable of meeting set targets and supporting team members in achieving objectives.
- Adept at following company procedures and specifications.
- Experienced in working with both verbal and written instructions.
- Strong team player with a proven ability to collaborate effectively.
- Competent in operating a welding chamber (Glove Box).
- Skilled in using a foot pedal-controlled turntable.
- Experienced in reading and utilising measuring equipment.
- Familiar with working with Titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel materials.
Desirable:
- Experience working in the aerospace industry
- Operator verification experience
Education:
Time served apprenticeship or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectation.
Shift Pattern:
4 day week running Mon-Thurs 3.45pm-1.30am
2-3 months training on 4 day week initially DOE - Mon-Thurs
