Insight Employment are seeking a Welder Fabricator for a client of ours in Bedford.

The Role: -

At the heart of their business the standard is set and therefore quality of workmanship and meeting set deadlines are a must and full dedication must be given to this while maintaining the highest levels of health and safety.

You must be able to follow fabrication drawings and instruction while being vocal if for any reason, you realise either a mistake in drawings or your own work. Noticed conflicts must be reported along with any structural elements that cannot be met within the build of the product whether it be through weld or material being used.

As with every role within the company, they employ you due to your knowledge and skill set and therefore value any constructive feedback to assist with the company improving its product of systems.

Responsibilities: -

  • Read, interpret, and follow basic diagrams and engineering drawings, specifications, weld symbols, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create equipment and products.
  • Preferably, candidate with ARC MIG and TIG experience in aluminium and steel.
  • Utilize handheld tools such as a handheld screw gun, drill gun, and grinders.
  • Operate callipers, weld gauges, tape measures, and other welding hand tools.
  • Maintain weld machines using preventative maintenance methods.
  • Continually evaluate weld machine performance and technology to improve cycle times.
  • Maintain inventory of manufacturing products and welding consumables.
  • Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Prioritize workflow through effective communication with management staff.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Perform welding and fabrication tasks according to detailed plans andspecifications.
  • Ensure all fabricated components meet the company’s quality and safetystandards.
  • Maintain welding equipment and ensure the workspace is clean andorganised.
  • Collaborate with other workshop staff to meet production deadlines.
  • Uphold and promote the company’s core values.
  • Any other duties as required.

Qualification requirements: -

  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
  • High attention to detail and self-motivation skills.
  • Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred.
  • Work in a team environment and respect all teammates.

Between £12.00-£14.00 per hour depending on experience
