Quality Engineer | Glengarnock with occasional travel required to our other site | Full Time | £35,000-£40,000 per annum depending on relevant experience

Precision Tooling Services is an investment casting foundry located in North Ayrshire. We specialise in casting a wide range of materials, from stainless steels to aluminium. At the core of the company are creativity and innovation, with quality being the cornerstone upon which the business and its reputation have been built.

We are now looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team in Glengarnock.

In this role, the Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of products throughout the manufacturing process. Working closely with the Production and Technical teams, you will play a key role in developing and implementing quality control procedures, inspection methods, and testing protocols.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Previous experience in a quality engineering role, preferably within the manufacturing industry (company training will be provided)
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles, tools, and methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Computer literate, good communicator
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams

What will your role look like?

  • Maintain the quality control processes to monitor product quality at each stage of the investment casting process
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or deviations from specifications
  • Work with Production and Technical teams to resolve quality-related issues and implement corrective actions
  • In collaboration with the Quality Manager perform root cause analysis on defects and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement effective solutions
  • Maintain documentation and records related to quality control processes and inspections
  • Coordinate with external suppliers and vendors to ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Maintain training records for all employees
  • Form part of the Contract Review team
  • Conduct Spectro-check testing at Goods-Inward inspection and WIP
  • Conduct monitoring and measurement of shell room processes
  • Monitor and report on Quality Metrics, and control the NCR system
