Newly Qualified Accountant (Industry)

£40,000 - £45,000 | Permanent | Newly Created Role | Professional Development

REED is partnered with one of Ireland’s oldest and most respected businesses, in the appointment of a Newly Qualified Accountant to assume a newly created role within their expanding finance team.

This is truly an excellent opportunity for a newly/recently qualified Accountant to gain further professional development within a fast-paced industry environment.

Reporting to and receiving support & development from the Financial Controller, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial and management accounting, understand fundamental finance workflows as well as the importance of key internal controls.

Key Accountabilities: -

  • Assist in the preparation of a high-quality monthly management accounts pack with supporting schedules for internal and Board reporting
  • Reconciliation of key Control accounts
  • Assistance with preparation of annual budgets
  • Review of monthly overheads with key budget holders
  • Preparation of statutory accounts basis and liaison with external auditors
  • Support and assistance to the Credit Controller in relation to credit control activities namely updating customer master records, opening new accounts, managing customer payments, releasing held orders and office cover when required
  • Continuously review status of and opportunities for internal control effectiveness within the business
  • Leading and managing, value-adding process improvement projects within the Finance department and across the wider business

About you!

  • You will be a newly qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent) or at least four years’ experience in a similar role
  • Have the ability to analyse data and present clear findings
  • Offer proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other MS suite applications
  • Possess strong communication skills & the ability to work collaboratively with the finance team, other departments and stakeholders
