About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Weights Engineer to join our team for a 6-month contract, focusing on business class seating within the aerospace interiors industry. In this role, you will play a vital part in optimizing the weight of our premium seating solutions, ensuring compliance with aviation standards and alignment with customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Weight Analysis & Optimization: Perform detailed analysis of seat components, identifying opportunities for weight reduction while maintaining performance, safety, and comfort standards.
Material Evaluation: Explore lightweight materials such as composites, aluminium alloys, and advanced polymers to meet weight and structural targets.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with aviation standards (FAA, EASA) and meet customer specifications.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure weight goals are achieved during the development and production phases.
Weight Reporting: Maintain detailed weight tracking documentation and provide regular updates to stakeholders and customers.
Prototype Validation: Support prototype testing to validate weight predictions and structural performance.
What We're Looking For
Experience:

Proven experience in weight optimization within the aerospace industry, ideally with a focus on business class or aircraft seating.
Familiarity with aerospace interiors design and manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills:

Strong knowledge of lightweight materials (e.g., carbon fibre, composites, advanced metals).
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g CATIA, Siemens NX, SolidWorks).
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Understanding of aviation standards and certification requirements (FAA/EASA).

Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
