Day to Day of the role:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef & Site Manager to ensure the smooth operation of the catering unit.
  • Prepare and cook meals and snacks according to pre-set menus, focusing on nutrition, appeal, and dietary requirements.
  • Manage simple stock control to minimise waste and ensure the efficient use of ingredients.
  • Maintain a clean kitchen environment, including washing up crockery and utensils, and disposing of waste responsibly.
  • Be attentive to residents’ dietary needs and preferences, and be responsive to their feedback on the menu.
  • Provide cover for other Kitchen Assistant staff during their leave as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents and team members.
  • The ability to work well both within a team and independently.
  • Previous experience in a catering role is essential.
  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Level 2 certification or equivalent.
