Join our dedicated team at a “Housing with Care” facility that values independence, freedom of choice, and dignity. We are looking for a Cook to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals to our residents, enhancing their comfort and happiness.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide a diverse menu offering choice, seasonality, creativity, and nutrition, ensuring high quality in every meal served.
  • Continuously interact with residents to tailor food services to their preferences and dietary needs, using their feedback to inform menu adjustments.
  • Manage meal delivery times efficiently, offering a range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
  • Ensure the kitchen operates to high standards of hygiene and safety, complying with environmental health regulations and internal policies.
  • Maintain rigorous records management for kitchen operations including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and stock levels.
  • Oversee kitchen budget, stock control, and staff management, ensuring minimal wastage and optimal resource use.
  • Occasionally serve food directly to residents, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy kitchen environment, delivering 50+ covers with responsibilities including menu setting, purchasing, and stock control.
  • CIEH Level 3 in Food Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven ability to manage a budget, a small staff team, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Strong initiative in resolving issues and adhering to correct reporting procedures.
  • Must be able to work on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
