Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide a diverse menu offering choice, seasonality, creativity, and nutrition, ensuring high quality in every meal served.
- Continuously interact with residents to tailor food services to their preferences and dietary needs, using their feedback to inform menu adjustments.
- Manage meal delivery times efficiently, offering a range of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Ensure the kitchen operates to high standards of hygiene and safety, complying with environmental health regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain rigorous records management for kitchen operations including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, and stock levels.
- Oversee kitchen budget, stock control, and staff management, ensuring minimal wastage and optimal resource use.
- Occasionally serve food directly to residents, ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 yearsā experience in a busy kitchen environment, delivering 50+ covers with responsibilities including menu setting, purchasing, and stock control.
- CIEH Level 3 in Food Safety or equivalent qualification.
- Proven ability to manage a budget, a small staff team, and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Strong initiative in resolving issues and adhering to correct reporting procedures.
- Must be able to work on a rota basis, including evenings and weekends.
