Reed HR are seeking an HR Specialist to work closely with the HR Lead to devise and implement company policies and procedures that align with business requirements and relevant legislation. This role involves advising managers to ensure compliance, assisting in the selection, development, and retention of staff to meet the company's needs. The HR Specialist will provide proactive, timely, accurate, and value-adding HR services.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver a high-quality professional HR service to both managers and colleagues, acting as an ambassador for the HR profession.
  • Manage the recruitment process up to management level, including liaising with external agencies, ensuring compliance with internal performance and cost criteria, and managing the induction process.
  • Support managers in the delivery of Performance Management and Capability procedures, advising on legislation, policy, risk, and best practice.
  • Handle Disciplinary, Grievance, and Attendance Management processes, including liaising with Occupational Health service providers and taking notes at HR meetings.
  • Manage effective absence management, including updating the absence tracker, actioning sick absence, and handling lateness triggers.
  • Promote a positive employment relations environment and equality of opportunity in collaboration with Trade Union Representatives and Managers.
  • Support the HR Lead in building and delivering a programme of employee engagement and wellbeing activities.
  • Manage probation review, leaver process, family leave, and flexible working processes.
  • Maintain Key HR Metrics and provide reports and statistical information to stakeholders.
  • Analyse information and make recommendations regarding individual and organisational situations.
  • Act as a first point of contact for HR-related queries, ensuring efficient handling and escalation as appropriate.
  • Develop and improve HR administration processes and maintain HR, personnel, and training records to audit-ready standards.
  • Update and maintain the Company’s HRIS (Workday).
  • Carry out general administration within the department, including note-taking and filing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years experience at HR Advisor/Business Partnering level within a FMCG or Manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics.
  • CIPD Level 5 or at least 4 years relevant experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of NI employment law and experience working with Unions.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience using HR systems, preferably Workday.
