Our Client is a well established European marketing, sales and distribution organisation in specialty chemicals who wish to recruit an Account Manager within the Advanced Materials business. The purpose of the role is to help develop and grow existing business within the UK and Ireland Plastics Convertor Industry, specifically to medical device manufacturing but also to other indusytrial plastic manufacturing.

Objectives:

  • To develop a strategy in line with budget expectations
  • To establish and develop commercial and technical activity with UK and Ireland medical and industrial moulders. Expected split 70% medical:30% industrial.
  • Identifying and canvassing new Customer and Principal targets
  • Developing and managing a comprehensive product portfolio for existing and new product lines
  • To handle product enquiries and business opportunities, and to contact customers directly
  • To monitor relevant sales to ensure that the correct level of profitability is maintained
  • To ensure that all price increases are implemented on time, and in accordance with their processes
  • To seek and follow through new business opportunities at accounts, and prioritise these accordingly
  • To fully update CRM and pipeline platforms ensuring digital optimisation.
  • To support existing activity at design houses.

The Account Manager profile:

  • Have a strong technical and commercial background, ideally gained through experience within the Plastic Convertor Market
  • Previous experience within medical sector (ie medical devices) is desirable.
  • Be academically qualified with a degree in polymer/plastic/material science/chemistry or related subject or minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Be self-motivated, disciplined, and comfortable working from home, expected travel commitment 40-60% with frequent travel to Ireland.
  • Driving licence is essential.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to a range of personality types
  • Be driven by the need to achieve sales growth and have a persistent approach when faced with difficulties and challenges
