IT Support – Ballymena – Permanent

REED Technology are delighted to represent a fantastic organisation who due to continued growth are seeking an IT Support technician to join their excellent team

Role

The IT Support Technician provides technical support and assistance to the company computer users. Their responsibilities include troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving software, hardware, and network problems users encounter. Reports to: Head of IT & Business Improvement

Responsibilities

· Be the first point of contact for business users with IT support issues – both hardware and software.

· Document and track support requests and resolutions in our ticketing system.

· Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of laptops and desktop computers.

· Resolve support issues efficiently and effectively and/or escalate issues to relevant vendors where appropriate and manage through to a successful conclusion.

· Deal with all IT elements of the leavers/movers/joiners’ processes (provision hardware, create accounts, disable accounts, re-purpose hardware etc.).

· Provide support and guidance for business users on MS Office packages - Excel, Word etc.

· Provide training on relevant systems, including creation of training and reference materials

· Visit our sites / offices regularly to provide IT support to business users.

· Participate in IT related projects as directed.

· Stay up-to-date with emerging technology trends and IT best practices to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Essential Criteria

• Proven experience as an IT Support Technician or similar role.

• Strong knowledge of IT support

• Familiarity with a variety of software, hardware, and network systems.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Flexible approach to work with the ability to work effectively under pressure.

• Encourages Co-Operative working
