Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to be working with our Belfast client to recruit a new full time and permanent Sea Freight Forwarder

As part of the sea freight team, you will be responsible for arranging freight shipments from beginning to close, including: booking acceptance, arranging with shipping line, processing customs, creating documentation, follow up and invoicing, whilst providing first class customer service throughout.

Duties

  • Process and manage the shipment of freight for existing customers

  • Deal with HMRC customs regulations in order to arrange speedy and effective cargo clearance for import cargo and customers shipping globally

  • Maintain professional and successful relationships with suppliers, carriers and overseas agents

  • Proactively manage the existing customer portfolio

  • Manage the import/export process end to end and ensure compliance with UK, Irish and overseas laws and regulations

  • Oversee the completion of all relevant documentation associated with international distribution

  • Liaising with overseas agents to manage consolidation of inbound LCL containers

  • Managing inbound customs clearance through Irish and UK customs systems



Requirements

  • 2 years` experience in freight forwarding. It would be preferable to have sea freight forwarding experience
  • Must have experience of inbound/outbound customs processes
  • Have a strong attention to detail and be process drive
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in LCL handling preferred
