Synopsis: The Sales Recruitment Network is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager with a Steel Stock Holding / Process background and a verifiable track record of sales success in Power, Engineering, Oil, Gas, Petrochem and Process Industries. £K Negotiable Base salary plus Bonus + Exec benefits. Belfast or surrounding area base with a Northern Ireland/ Republic of Ireland remit

Job Title:BDM Steel / Process Piping

Package: £K Excellent Negotiable basic depending upon experience plus bonus, car allowance, pension, health, etc

Area / Location:Northern Ireland Base. The role would be working from home, with Travel to Manchester or Sheffield in the initial period then as and when required

Brief job description: Our Clients continued investment in the latest state of the art plate processing equipment, completed last summer, is further enhanced by the UKs most expansive stocks of reversing mill plate and their ability to supply the complete package of Structural Sections, either fully processed or stock lengths.

They now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development professional to join them, working on a hybrid basis, covering sales into Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland.

The successful candidate(s) should have previous steel stockholding and processing experience in a similar environment and have the drive and ambition to grow their sales career within the steel industry. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify key decision makers of new clients through direct communication by telephone
    calls, emails, and professional networking.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients to expand sales.
  • Promote key products and added value services by identifying and targeting specific
    industry sectors.
  • Respond to enquiries and preparing accurate written presentations, reports, and price
    quotations in a timely manner.
  • Ensure commercial targets are met.
  • Liaise with Commercial Director / product leads on any issues/opportunities with new
    and existing customer base.
  • Use relevant database to provide required information on stock availability.
  • Ensure accounts trade within the agreed credit limits.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date customer databases and statistics.

Candidates must have:

  • A knowledge of steel plate, plate processing and structural sections is essential.
  • An ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent communication skills internal and external.
  • Be highly organised and methodical.
  • Maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Understanding the customers' needs.
  • 3 + years sales experience required.
