Finance Assistant – Belfast

Permanent | Full-Time | Site-based | £25,000 - 28,000 per annum 

REED Accountancy is delighted to be partnered with our client, a reputable manufacturing company in Belfast, in the appointment of a full-time Finance Assistant to join their dynamic team.

This role will be for the provision of finance and administration support and the successful Finance Assistant will be responsible for financial administration in both purchase and sales ledger functions.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurate & timely processing & invoicing of customer invoices & credit notes
  • Accurate and timely matching of supplier invoices and processing payment.
  • Accurate & timely processing of external store sales documents
  • Posting journal entries
  • Accept, check, process and record phone payments.
  • Assist in the processing of daily bank and cash reconciliation.
  • Ensure accurate records are maintained regarding accounts, suppliers & customers.
  • Accurate reconciliation of supplier statements monthly and liaison with relevant parties to resolve issues & anomalies.
  • Relevant financial and accounting processes are adhered to and suggestions to improve these are made.
  • Effective filing and management of documentation and information and work within GDPR guidelines.
  • The role will involve supporting both the sales ledger and accounts functions.
  • Support Company Accountant and Accounts Team with all accounting requirements as necessary.

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • At least 2 years previous experience in an office environment
  • Proficient in MS Excel and other standard IT systems.
  • Experience in the use of an integrated information system.
  • Hold a minimum of 3 GCSE (or equivalent) passes at Grade C or above including English and Mathematics or equivalent OR at least 3 years previous experience in financial administration or similar function
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels with a willingness to help others work towards a common goal.
  • Good organisational & planning skills
  • Trustworthy with the ability to uphold privacy.
  • Good organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload to ensure deadlines are met
