This role requires a skilled individual with a deep understanding of high-performance, low-latency applications, who can contribute effectively to a wider development team while demonstrating independence and ownership of key projects.In this role as a C++ Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting high-throughput, low-latency applications. You will collaborate with a wider team to develop new features and maintain existing systems, while optimising performance and troubleshooting issues in a Linux/Unix environment. Additionally, you will apply strong coding practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality, maintainable code.Required Skills:
  • At least 3 years commercial experience with C++ (11/14)
  • Experience tuning and troubleshooting low latency applications
  • Experience with multi-threaded systems
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, UDP, Web-sockets, and other networking protocols
  • Hands-on experience with debugging and performance analysis tools
  • Experience with build environments
Desirable Skills:
  • Commercial experience with databases e.g. PostgreSQL
  • Familiarity with middleware/messaging solutions
  • Experience in Python or LUA
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing
  • Experience with Git version control
