The Opportunity

The Software Engineer at Bright will be a key contributor to our central services team, building products and services that help unify our suite of cloud services. This role will focus on developing high-quality, scalable backend solutions using C# and primarily SQL databases. Experience with front end development in JavaScript would be beneficial as would experience of Azure. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a cross-functional teams to deliver impactful projects that are core to driving the business forward.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain web-based applications and services ensuring robust and efficient performance.
  • Appropriately test and document the code you write.
  • Collaborate within the product manager, engineers, QAs and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices in software engineering.
  • Identify opportunities for improve development practices, tools, code health and maintainability in collaboration with the wider engineering community.
  • Configure builds and automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by working closely within cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Requirements:

  • Experience building web-based applications with C# .net.
  • Experience with writing unit tests or test driven development an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience building web front ends in JavaScript would be an advantage, though not necessary.
  • Be self-driven and interested in growing your skills and knowledge.
  • Experience working in a fast moving agile environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
