The Opportunity

As a Software Engineer at Bright, you will be a key technical contributor within the BrightPay team, building features and services for our flagship payroll products. This role will focus on developing high-quality, scalable solutions using C# both on the backend and frontend with Blazor. You will be using a modern toolchain that includes Azure services and Kubernetes to build and host what you produce. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in a dynamic cross-functional team to deliver impactful projects that are core to driving the business forward.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain web-based applications and services ensuring robust and efficient performance.
  • Appropriately test and document the code you write.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, QAs and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work with the team to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies and best practices in software engineering.
  • Identify opportunities to improve development practices, tools, code health and maintainability in collaboration with the wider engineering community.
  • Configure builds and automated tests to execute reliably and efficiently in CI/CD environments.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by working closely within cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.


Requirements

  • Experience building web based applications with C# .net.
  • Experience with writing unit tests, or test driven development an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Experience with SQL databases and other data storage technologies.
  • Experience building web front ends, with Blazor an advantage, but not a necessity.
  • Be self-driven and interested in growing your skills and knowledge.
  • Experience working in a fast moving agile environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, demonstrating a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices and tools.
