DISTRIBUTION TEAM LEADER

START DATE: Immediately, following successful interview with clientSHIFT PATTERN: Tuesday - Saturday, 09:30 – 18:00 (approximately)ADDITIONAL HOURS: Every second Sunday for Monday planning (hours can be taken back during the week)SALARY: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)LOCATION: Bellshill

Key Responsibilities

  • Overseeing a team of up to seventeen drivers, ensuring efficient daily operations
  • Managing vehicle routing to maximise efficiency and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Handling tachograph analysis and ensuring compliance with working time regulations
  • Ensuring vehicle maintenance schedules are met in line with company standards
  • Managing customer and sales rep enquiries in a professional and timely manner
  • Conducting driver debriefs upon return to the depot
  • Monitoring cancelled and return orders/goods
  • Assisting with HR & training documentation and maintaining compliance
  • Supporting the Distribution Manager (Scotland and ROI) as required
  • Working 1 Sunday in 2 for routing support

Essential Skills & Experience

? Valid UK Category C Driving Licence, DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card? Strong logistical and analytical skills? Advanced IT skills, including Excel, Access, VBA, Power BI & Routing Software? Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal? Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines? Strong problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • A relevant diploma or degree, or at least 3 years of experience in planning and/or shipping
  • Working towards or holding a Certificate of Professional Competency (CPC)
  • Experience with Orcom or Bluetree systems (preferred but not essential)

Interview Process

  • 1st Round: Teams interview with hiring managers (technical & skills-based assessment)
  • 2nd Round: Candidates prepare 3-4 PowerPoint slides for a 10-minute discussion to assess IT skills and general competency
