MRD Recruitment is actively looking for a Regional Operations Manager, who will oversee and run the entire Transport & Warehousing operation within Scotland. My third-party Logistics client is a market leader within their respective field and the role is based in Bellshill, reporting into their Operations Director.

The successful Regional Operations Manager overseeing the Transport & Warehouse operation in Scotland, will be based in Bellshill and will be responsible for all financial and operational aspects of several depots, by managing the P&L for both the Transport and Warehouse operation in Scotland.

Job Requirements for the Regional Operations Manager (Transport & Warehouse) based in Bellshill:

  • Manage & support an effective operational process, which ensures integrity of customer / supplier's service requirements.
  • Manage commercial aspects of transport and warehouse operation to meet profit and service/quality targets.
  • Uphold and maintain highest standards of Health & Safety
  • Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs with the ability to provide adequate cover at a planning level.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and ensure it's embedded into the wider team
  • Ensuring customer requirements are administered in a timely, controlled and recorded manner
  • Build and develop excellent customer relationships on a day-to-day basis
  • Input and verify the figures into the weekly forecast
  • Promote effective and efficient standards of work, to comply with transport legislation, company policy and Health & Safety legislation
  • Preparing and submitting various KPI reports
  • Work in tandem with partner depots and drive synergies.
  • Complete accident reports and be able to update risk assessments, contributing to a positive safety culture
  • Support the personal development of all people employed across multiple depots. Carry out performance reviews with the operational management team, identifying training needs
  • Create an effective working environment building a diverse, well- balanced team.
  • Lead and coach management colleagues to ensure all staff development requirements are met and there is sufficient cover between teams and personal development plans in place
  • Financial and Budget responsibilities

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experiences for the Regional Operations Manager (Transport & Warehouse) based in Bellshill:

  • Be commercially astute to manage all financial matters pertaining to the smooth operations of the depots
  • To be proactive and work under own initiative to form solutions to potential problems with the ability to make decisions instantaneously
  • Promote company values and code of conduct in all that you do and to others you come into contact with
  • Adhere to company rules, policies, procedures consistently and encourage others to do the same
  • Strong negotiating and reasoning skills
  • IT Literate (Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Highly competent and strong organisational ability
  • Fully competent in the management of health & safety (IOSH trained)
  • The ability to motivate a team and excellent people skills
  • Be flexible as required in accordance with the needs of the business
