About The Role
Morrison Energy Services (Transmission Networks)is recruiting for aTraffic Management Supervisorto work on ourOverhead Linecontractin Various Locations across the UK.

As aTraffic Management Supervisoryou will be part of our Project Teamwho are responsiblefor day-to-day Planning & Implementation of Traffic Management on the project.

Reporting directly to Traffic Management Manager, who will provide support and advice, you will be responsible for assisting in the efficient day-to-day running of all Traffic Management activities across the MESTN Projects throughout the UK. You will implement Setting to work documents and assist in the Scheduling of works. Review the program of works, liaise with all site managers and project managers to ensure critical program dates are met and delivered in line with defined budgets and in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Local Authorities.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will be expected to create and maintain new and existing relationships with sub-contractors and Local Authorities.
Accuracy and efficiency are paramount to the role as you will support the commercial team to keep accurate records of operations. Delivering toolbox talks, following the accident and incident reporting process (when required), and undertaking Traffic Management site inspections and audits on MESTN Projects.

As theTraffic Management Supervisoryour responsibilities will include:
  • Reports to the Traffic Management Manager and works closely with the Project and Site Managers for all day-to-day commercial and operational issues associated with traffic management.
  • Responsible to Head of Operations on all commercial, operational, and technical delivery issues
  • Promote safety, health, and environmental initiatives throughout all projects within MES Transmission Networks
  • Support the Business Development and Bids teams with appropriate traffic management support at tender and proposal stages.
  • Contribute experience, knowledge and management support to the supply chain functions with respect to traffic management and the appointment of subcontractors
  • Ensure Traffic Management Plans are in place for all operational sites and contribute to the development of policies and procedures as may be required off the back of these.
  • Produce supporting TM Drawings/Plans to support applications to the relevant authority and to their required standard/format
  • Assist in the appointment of traffic management subcontractors for project delivery
  • Day to day management of traffic management subcontractors once on projects. Monitoring costs, agreeing variations and auditing performance
  • Ensure timely programming and change notifications are communicated to support other internal departments e.g. Planning, Commercial and Design.
  • Liaise with Highways, local councils and other major stakeholders on the project to obtain relevant approvals
  • Management of local council permits via the relevant permit application system / desk
  • Principal contact for correspondence and meetings with Local Authorities and associated third parties for traffic management activities
  • Close liaison with Site Manager/Project Manager to ensure compliance with and delivery of contractual obligations
  • Capture events impacting costs and program in order to timely update project status and forecasts in relation to traffic management activities.
  • Produce reports and provide feedback on contractor performance as required
  • Produce Project Closeout Reports ensuring that lessons learnt are captured and fed back appropriately, and where applicable to the Bids team for consideration on future bids.
  • Attend Morrison and client contract review/progress meetings on a regular basis and any other contract related meeting as may be required.

Skills & Knowledge Requirements
  • Ability to communicate with and support cross-departmental initiatives to maximise efficiency and productivity whilst building confidence and respect from each department.
  • Ability to challenge the norm and drive innovation into all that we do.
  • Ability to develop budgets and forecasts, plan and program resources and activities and implement KPIs across numerous projects in order to deliver projects efficiently.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective prioritisation, time management and workload planning skills.
  • Be able to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of UK power transmission markets, clients, and regulatory bodies.
  • Knowledge and understanding of traffic management legislation and requirements in the UK
  • Recognised traffic management qualification(s)
