Blue Arrow Derby is proud to be working in partnership with UK's leading manufacturers of boilers, heat pumps & heating systems and they are looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent basis based at their Belper plant.

Reporting to the Head of Plant Quality Assurance the successful applicant will be responsible for
supporting our manufacturing facility.

Hours: Mon - Thurs 8.30 - 17.00 and Friday 8.30 - 15.00

What duties are involved in the Quality Engineer role?

  • You will improve quality by using your problem-solving skills to identifying root causes of issues and drive forward robust solutions.
  • Your proven track record in quality engineering will enable you to reduce manufacturing costs and improve product and process quality, as well as providing timely solutions to internal and external customer concerns.
  • You will use your communication skills to show good data analysis and be able to work with other disciplines at all levels.
  • You will have a direct input into new product introduction within the Industrial Area.

What will you bring to the Quality Engineer role?

  • Qualifications - HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering/ Quality disciplines.
  • Previous experience as Quality Engineer or similar
  • Familiar and confident with range of measuring and inspection equipment and can interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience gained from a 'hands on' Quality Assurance role within a shop floor manufacturing
  • Practical knowledge of Quality tools including but not limited to, PFMEA, Control plan, 8D, SPC,
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or other similar Quality standard and the ability to use Microsoft products outlook excel, PowerPoint.
  • A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn new concepts whilst setting an example of promoting Quality Culture through the business.
