Scenic Draftsperson
£40,000 - £50,000 per annum
28 days holiday plus bank holidays

Location - Belvedere
As the Draftsperson for our client who design and construct scenic sets, you will be responsible for transforming designs into detailed construction, bench, and CNC drawings using AutoCAD and other 2D and 3D software.
Working closely with designers, you'll manage the drawing process from initial concept through to completion, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives. Always considering optimal construction methods and materials, balancing quality with budget and timeline constraints to bring each project to life at the highest standard. Researching and testing innovative methods and materials, contributing to continuous improvement and innovation within the team and supporting the junior team members, with their progression along the way.
Duties:
- Independently manage projects from conception to completion.
- Oversee multiple projects, collaborating with the team to ensure deadlines are met.
- Production of detailed designs to enable workshop fabrication and co-ordination with the workshop floor on queries and adjustments.
- Development and specification of suitable build methods, techniques and materials
- Education both for yourself and the teams on new/alternative construction techniques
- Supporting junior team members with their education and progression
- Efficient communication across all teams internally and externally
- Occasional travel to attend client meetings and undertake site surveys
Experience:
- Demonstrable experience drafting for a scenic construction company or similar
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods within both carpentry and metal work
- Understanding of materials used in the industry
- Experience within a workshop/construction environment
- Proficient 2D and 3D AutoCAD experience
- Impeccable time management and a track record of keeping to tight deadlines
- Ability to adapt and keep on track with ever-changing specifications
