Key Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer Role:
- Identifying potential customers and making contact
- Visiting and quoting customers
- Developing business opportunities
- Understanding technical plans, specifications, and schematics, and applying that knowledge to the Power Solutions team and customers
- Creating and submitting sales and technical proposals to customers
- Answering customer queries and providing technical support
- Arranging follow-up meetings and calls to retain business and secure additional sales
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the Standby Power industry and relevant business and technical information
- Ensuring all sales and personal sales targets are met
- Representing the company with existing and new clients
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients
- Demonstrating a good knowledge of business acumen and sales techniques
- Presenting sales data to the Sales Director
- Being a team player and contributing to the overall success of the company
Qualifications and Experience:
- A degree-level education or equivalent in a relevant technical field, such as engineering
- 3 or more years of experience in a sales or business development role, preferably in the Standby Power industry
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Confidence in communicating via telephone, face-to-face, and email
- Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- A full, clean UK driving licence
