Plant Manager - Drainage Industry

?? Location: Belvedere, Kent

?? Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per year (DOE)

?? Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

About the Company:

Our client is a leading national drainage company, dedicated to delivering exceptional service and quality to its diverse client base. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee their Tanker Department and drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fleet & Operations Management - Oversee the daily operations of the Tanker Department, managing a fleet of 6 Jet Vac Combination Units to ensure efficiency and timely service delivery.
  • Compliance & Maintenance - Ensure fleet compliance with all regulatory requirements, conducting regular maintenance checks and managing vehicle upkeep to keep all vehicles operational and roadworthy.
  • Health & Safety Leadership - Maintain full oversight of health and safety regulations, implementing and monitoring compliance protocols to uphold industry standards.
  • Yard & Equipment Oversight - Supervise yard operations, ensuring equipment is stored correctly and all operational & safety standards are met.
  • Procurement & Inventory Management - Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring all resources are available for smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Team Leadership - Lead, motivate, and develop a team, ensuring high levels of performance and engagement.

What We're Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing a fleet, ideally within the Tanker sector.
  • Previous experience in the drainage industry or a similar field is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational & problem-solving skills - ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership skills - ability to motivate and communicate effectively with staff, senior management, and external partners.
  • A solid understanding of health & safety regulations, fleet compliance, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with ISO & RAMS standards would be highly beneficial.
