This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our fleet, ensuring vehicle availability, and supporting the operational needs of our police officers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain covert and specialist fleet within the workshop.
  • Manage vehicle bookings, customer calls, and schedule appointments.
  • Support the Service Reception Manager to deliver effective services.
  • Assist in reducing vehicle downtime and maximising fleet availability.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Handle daily reception office and stores functions, including receiving and issuing parts.
  • Manage the roadside assistance program and monitor contractor response times.
  • Raise invoices and purchase orders to ensure prompt payment for services.
  • Create job cards for vehicle defect diagnosis and repair.
  • Report building and equipment faults for timely repairs.
  • Perform data entry tasks and assist with weekly management reports.
  • Collaborate with the parts department for receiving and returning vehicle parts.
  • Take responsibility for personal development and staying updated with relevant standards and legislation.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong data entry accuracy and prioritisation skills.
  • Good telephone manner and customer service skills.
  • DVLA driving license (Cat B Manual essential).
  • Experience in a vehicle service department or frontline policing environment is desirable.
