An establishedmanufacturer of bespokeparts, components and assemblies for various industry sectors including automotive, defence and medical are seeking to recruit a Design Engineer.The company areenjoying strong growth and sales and as a result are seeking to strengthen their operations.
Reporting to the EngineeringManager - the main purpose of the Design Engineer role is to create new product designs from concept through to production intent. CAD modelling and drawing updates.
Key responsibilities and duties would be;
- To design and create innovative new product concepts and final designs
- To carry out design changes to exiting products as directed by the engineering manager
- Work closely with customer and suppliers to bring products to life
- Support the sales department with initial design concepts
- Support the production department to ensure that parts go together smoothly and efficiently
- Support the quality department with product improvements
- Resolve all customer enquiries, via email, internet calls or phone calls in a timely, professional manner
- Assist and drive cost reduction projects to achieve targets set by the engineering manager
I would be keen to receive your application if you are a Design Engineer whoholds the following skills and expertise;
- Must have experience of Solidworks 3D & 2D
- Some basic knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
- Having an understanding of mechanical engineering
- Team focused, tolerant and methodical
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Design
The role is Days - 5 days a week (Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 8am to 1pm)
The company are based in Redditch so are easily commutable from Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Droitwich, Dudley, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Stratford upon Avon, Studley, Henley in Arden.
