Job Title: Accounts Assistant 

Location: Redditch

Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our client's Accounts Department. In this role, you will assist in managing all accounting tasks related to subcontractors, including handling accounts payable, accounts receivable, and CIS processing. Experience in the construction or groundworks industry is essential, and applications will be rejected if this is not clearly demonstrated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process subcontractor invoices and resolve any related queries.
  • Handle CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) payments and update relevant systems.
  • Maintain the subcontractor ledger, ensuring all payments are up to date.
  • Collaborate with other departments to manage account processes and ensure smooth operations.
  • Oversee the purchase ledger from start to finish.
  • Provide necessary financial information to senior managers upon request.

Person Specification:

  • Essential: Proven experience in a generalist accounts role within construction or groundworks.
  • Essential: Knowledge of subcontractor processes and CIS.
  • Experience with domestic VAT reverse charge.
  • Level 2 AAT qualification preferred or equivalent proven experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle confidential information professionally.
