Gi Pro is delighted to be supporting a well-established and family-owned precision engineering business as they look to recruit a Welding Supervisor to lead a small team of three experienced welders.

Responsibility:

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the site to meet daily objectives with regards to Safety, Quality and Delivery and will be the point of contact for the main Henley site.
  • You will be responsible for resolving issues such as, but not limited to documentation and drawing clarification, welding specifications, assembly queries and escalating as required.
  • You shall communicate with your team as necessary information appertaining to business wide activities, initiatives, daily objectives during daily start-up meetings.
  • You shall be responsible for ensuring employees comply with the Company Handbook and conduct investigations and disciplinary meetings as necessary.
  • This is predominantly a hands-on position where you'll spend approximately 90% on the tools and 10% on management and leadership activities.
  • Assess work load, distribute jobs and communicate priorities.
  • Lead a daily start-up meeting to communicate or escalate any Safety, Quality or Delivery issues.
  • Manage gas, wire and consumables in order to sustain production continuity.
  • Ensure Workplace Organisation and the site is clean and tidy, meeting agreed standards.
  • Ensure employees comply with the Company Handbook and address any non-conformance.

About you:

  • Experienced Welder / Fabricator (ideally MIG) .
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Balance the needs of the business, team and individual.
  • Good communicator with people management skills
  • Motivate team members to achieve daily objectives.
  • Lead, participate and suggest continuous improvement opportunities with your team.
  • Demonstrates Company values through their daily activities and interactions.
  • Possess a "will-do" attitude.
  • Positively communicate ideas, issues and concerns and offers suggestions and solutions.
