Occupational Therapist

Location: Berkeley, Gloucestershire

Salary: Actual salary 19,415.37 - 26,715.41 (FTE 37,668.80 - 51,832.00) dependant on experience

Hours: 24 hours per week (3 days) - Term time only

Our private sector client are recruiting an Occupational Therapist to support the Therapy Service at their SEMH school in Berkeley, on a part time permanent basis.

About the school:

The school provides tailored education to pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs, combining the best elements of a mainstream school and the best elements of a special school.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of children with complex needs, autistic spectrum conditions, sensory needs and attachment difficulties
  • Analyse and interpret assessments to recommend and deliver the best course of intervention for each child.
  • Provide a high standard of occupational therapy assessment and intervention to children and young people, including advice and training to relevant parents, carers and professionals in line with proposed treatment plans.

Requirements:

  • A recognised degree in Occupational Therapy and current registration of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Member of RCOT.
  • Minimum of 1 years post-qualification experience as an OT, within a specialist education setting and/or supporting children and younf adults with complex needs and diagnosis inc ASD, ADHD, SEMH etc.
