SEN KS4 Teacher

Simply Education is recruiting for a bespoke school that supports 11-16 year olds with SEMH needs. We are currently seeking a SEN KS4 Teacher, and we welcome applicants with various specialisms.

Main Purpose of the Role:

As a SEN Teacher with Simply Education, you will provide high-quality teaching to children and young people with SEMH and other complex needs, including anxiety-related challenges and behaviours. Some students may have multiple learning difficulties, and experience working with SEMH or ASD is essential.

Key Duties:

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of the curriculum, addressing the educational, physical, and social needs of the students.
  • Collaborate with other staff as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Plan and deliver lessons using short, medium, and long-term strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets to optimise student progress.
  • Monitor, assess, review, and report on student work and progress to parents, team members, senior staff, and other relevant bodies.
  • Continue professional development through training and research.
  • Create lesson plans and engage in self-reflection to assess outcomes.
  • Participate in the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential:

  • PGCE, Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or an equivalent teaching qualification, along with evidence of in-service training.
  • Experience working in a special school environment, particularly with pupils who have SEMH needs.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate diploma in SEN.
  • Experience delivering a differentiated curriculum to students with a range of learning needs.
